So I got Brawl…
17 03 2008I got it on the 9th, but I haven’t been keeping up with the blog, and I apologize for that..
Anyways, Brawl is an amazing game. It completely blows Melee out of the water. So… Yeah, you guessed it, another review-esque post..
Super Smash Brothers: Brawl (or just Brawl) is the latest installment in the Super Smash Brothers series, starting in 1999 (I think..?) with Super Smash Bros. for the N64. It was a revolutionary game in it’s time, and that led to Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube in 2001. It’s still one of the most popular games out there, and it was also the first Gamecube game that I got (Got it for my 7th or 8th Birthday).
Enough on the older games, it’s time to Brawl!
After being delayed twice, Brawl was finally released on March 9th, 2008 in North America, and it delivers.
When you first boot up the game, you’ll get the loading screen (Longest one in the game, stop complaining!) then a amazing opening screen. To avoid spoilers, you might wanna skip it, because it shows every hidden character.
The menus are very similar to the Kirby Air Ride menus with bright colors and big buttons, it’s a treat to see. Moving on to the actual gameplay, it’s incredible. It’s like they took everything that made Melee good, and made it over 9000 times better. Everything is much lighter feeling (bigger jumps, some characters can glide endlessly.) and faster paced (although some people say it’s slower paced than Melee, go figure).
The Subspace Emissary is the single player adventure and is where you can unlock characters and trophies. I won’t say much more to avoid spoilers, bu I will say it has amazing cut-scenes.
I recommend this game to all Wii owners. So go out and buy it NOW.
I give it a…
