Metal Slug on the European Virtual Console

9 05 2008

Today Europe got Metal Slug on the VC. So uh, yeah. I think it’s pretty pointless because you can buy Metal Slug Anthology…

But still, Metal Slug rocks. I have it on GameTap (It’s free there, go check it out!) and I’ve played it in the arcade a few times. Bust-a-Move is still the greatest arcade game ever. :P

You gotta watch this.

 This guy is crazy.

I wish I could play like that.  I’d be the Mastah!

… Yeah…

Uh, I’ve been playing Stepmania a lot lately, and I’m ok at it now.

Here’s a video of me playing:

I’m awesome.

… Ok, so that’s not me. I can’t beat any song on Heavy except for 8-bit…

I wish I was that good, though.

Here’s another crazy video:

And one more…

Link

 Yeah, no more Stepmania videos.

Moving on…

WiiWare is opening this week, can’t wait.

For all those who missed the memo, WiiWare is Nintendo’s answer to the Xbox Live Arcade, where indy developers can create games for download from the Wii shop Channel! It looks awesome, so I’m probably gonna save up some money and download a whole bunch of games..

So uh, yeah… I’m out.

The Bad Pikmin Ending…

2 05 2008

… Is really creepy…

See for yourself…

Poor Olimar…

Oh yeah, and the final boss scared me so bad the first time I saw it…

Here.
So yeah,  Pikmin rocks. Too bad I can’t find my copy..

Earthbound Rated by the ESRB!

2 05 2008

Today Earthbound, the most anticipated game for the Virtual Console was rated by the ESRB, indicating that it will be released sometime in the future!

I’m super excited, I’ve played through until the Happy Blue Cult (Or whatever it’s called…) and then stopped… But when this gets released I’m going to play through the whole thing, even if it kills me… :P

Earthbound is also one of the most hilarious games I’ve played.

Camera Guy: “Say ‘Fuzzy Pickles’!”

That’s just a hint of how random this game is…

Also, on a side note, am I the only one who can’t see the front page’s banner? It’s just showing up as a white bar now… Hm…

Adium, Pokemon, and Flash Games

25 04 2008

So uh, I haven’t updated in a while. Sorry about that.
So yeah…  Adium… It like Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live (MSN), ICQ, Jabber (And Google Talk), and AIM all rolled into one. I just found out about it yesterday, and I’m loving it.

Link!

Moving on..

So I mentioned in a earlier post that my Pokemon Gold’s game pak was not saving anymore… But I finally fixed it!

Here’s how to fix it.

For all those who don’t have a soldering iron, use electrical tape. That’s what I did. Also, find something to pry the solder away from the battery, or else it’s gonna be painful… :P

Moving on, again.

I bet this is old to some of you, but whatever.

Go.

It’s a simple little Smash Bros. game for your computer. Fun for awhile, but use Knuckles’ down special. One hit kills.

Uh, yeah. That is all.

Yay!

26 03 2008

So today I came home from my best friend’s house, and to my surprise my dad had bought a Windows machine for his job! And, even better, he said I could use it! So I’m typing from the new computer, and it’s awesome. We’ve never had a Windows machine in our house (My family is more into Macs) so this is a whole new thing for me. I’ve already put the Zune theme and Halo on it, and everything is really smooth.

Anyways, I’ve been messing with Pivot for a while, and I’ve found a video on Youtube…

Sadly,  embedding is disabled, so here’s the link:

It’s pretty cool…

Superman 64 is the greatest game ever. Seriously.

18 03 2008

Yeah, it’s one incredible game. I remember playing this game at my cousins house back when I thought all games were awesome..

But..

I still thought it was a terrible game, being a big Superman fan when I was… 4?

So yeah, it’s probably the best game I’ve ever played.

Luthor: YOU MUST SOLVE MY MAZE!

… It’s not even a maze. It’s a long path of rings.

Here’s a little math for everyone. Ok not really.

Maze =/= Rings. It’s a proven fact.
Also, I think I’ve found the greatest Mario World hack:

Kaizo Mario World!

You can download the game here: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?showtopic=167174

It’s extremely hard. I mean, you’ll probably die 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 times. On the first level. It’s that hard.

So, just keep playing. DON’T GIVE UP..!

So I got Brawl…

17 03 2008

I got it on the 9th, but I haven’t been keeping up with the blog, and I apologize for that..

Anyways, Brawl is an amazing game. It completely blows Melee out of the water. So… Yeah, you guessed it, another review-esque post..

Super Smash Brothers: Brawl (or just Brawl) is the latest installment in the Super Smash Brothers series, starting in 1999 (I think..?) with Super Smash Bros. for the N64. It was a revolutionary game in it’s time, and that led to Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Gamecube in 2001. It’s still one of the most popular games out there, and it was also the first Gamecube game that I got (Got it for my 7th or 8th Birthday).

Enough on the older games, it’s time to Brawl!

After being delayed twice, Brawl was finally released on March 9th, 2008 in North America, and it delivers.

When you first boot up the game, you’ll get the loading screen (Longest one in the game, stop complaining!) then a amazing opening screen. To avoid spoilers, you might wanna skip it, because it shows every hidden character.

The menus are very similar to the Kirby Air Ride menus with bright colors and big buttons, it’s a treat to see. Moving on to the actual gameplay, it’s incredible. It’s like they took everything that made Melee good, and made it over 9000 times better. Everything is much lighter feeling (bigger jumps, some characters can glide endlessly.) and faster paced (although some people say it’s slower paced than Melee, go figure).

The Subspace Emissary is the single player adventure and is where you can unlock characters and trophies. I won’t say much more to avoid spoilers, bu I will say it has amazing cut-scenes.
I recommend this game to all Wii owners. So go out and buy it NOW.

I  give it a…

5.

Out of 5.

Europe gets Commodore 64 games on the VC, for 500 Points

22 02 2008

Ok, so we all know Europe gets Brawl much later than us, but they at least get a new system added to their VC list.

For all those who don’t know, the Commodore 64 was is an 8-bit home computer released by Commodore International in August, 1982. It had games that were considered “revolutionary” in it’s time. It has games that were much better than Atari’s, and it could actually have music in its games, instead of bleeps and bloops.

I think that the C64 is actually a cool system, and I hope it comes to the USA.

I’ll post pictures and stuff later (I promise) but my sister is bugging me to get off the computer..

It’s Kirby!

12 02 2008

I’ve been really playing my old Kirby games (Kirby’s Dreamland, Crystal Shards, and some others) like crazy, and I thought I should review them…

Ok, so…

Kirby’s Dream Land: The game that started it all.

This was my first Kirby game, and I’m glad it got me into the Kirby series.

Graphics: 7/10

They’re pretty good for the GameBoy, but nothing special

Music: 9/10

I love this game’s music, and most of the songs from it are carried over to the newer games

Gameplay: 8/10

This game lost 1 point for not having copy abilities, but gained one for having the Superspicy Curry.

Controls: 9/10

Really basic and easy to use.

Overall: 8/10

A great game, and if you see it you should grab it.

Still my favorite Kirby game after… 8 years? Can’t remember when I got it.

Graphics: 9/10

Great for the N64, yet it still keeps with the Kirby formula.

Music: 10/10

Amazing. I have this game’s entire soundtrack on my iPod, and I listen to it like crazy.

Gameplay 9/10

Awesome. This game has a total of 35 copy abilities.

It loses one point, though, from not being able to fly for that long..

Controls: 8/10

Takes awhile to get used to (Uses the d-pad instead of the control stick)  but it’s second nature after that.

Overall: 9/10

A must-buy for the N64. Go and get it now.

Yes, Kirby is a great series, and who couldn’t love a pink… uh… something.

Today’s VC Releases: Harvest Moon (SNES) and Lords of Thunder (TG-16 CD-ROM)

11 02 2008

At last, Harvest Moon is out on the VC. I really like this game, and I need to download it again (It’s been about 8 years since I played it last).

Yay, colorful pastel graphics!

Now they need to release Harvest Moon 64 on the VC.

Just because Harvest Moon was released today doesn’t mean that the other game is bad; it’s actually a really awesome game!

Yes, that’s the real music used in the game.

I think we got a good VC day today, even though it’s only 2 games.
